PlanBuild Tasmania for Building Surveyors

PlanBuild Tasmania is a centralised solution which brings Councils, industry professionals and property owners together to manage the end-to-end approval processes relating to planning, building, plumbing and related environmental and public health applications.

Building Surveyors can register as users of PlanBuild Tasmania where they can submit applications on behalf of clients, track progress, received updates and view approved documents.

What can Builder Surveyors use PlanBuild Tasmania for?

Issue documents

Building Surveyors can issue the following documents in the portal:

  • Lodge Certificate of Likely Compliance (Notifiable Work) with Council
  • Lodge Building Surveying Documents with Council
  • Request for Environmental Health Officer Occupancy Report (Form 42)
  • Request for Report from Environmental Health Officer CLC (Form 42)

Builder Surveyors can request an Environmental Health Officer Occupancy Report or an Environmental Health Officer Report from the relevant Council via PlanBuild Tasmania Application Services portal.

Lodge Building Surveying Documents with Council

Building Surveyors can lodge building surveying documents with the Council. Depending on the Council, lodgement of these documents may require payment of fees.

View documents issued by Permit Authorities or submitted by other parties

For relevant projects, Building Surveyor can view the documents issued by the Permit Authority, including:

  • Certificate of Completion - Permit Demolition Work (Form 70)
  • Certificate of Completion - Permit Building Work (Form 20)
  • Permits issued by Council, including Building Permits, Demolition permits and Permits of Substantial Compliance
Link a licence

PlanBuild Tasmania is connected to the Tasmanian Occupational Licensing system.

A building professional can link their Tasmanian Occupational Licence with their PlanBuild Tasmania account by simply entering a valid licence number when they register as a user. Once linked, the licence details will be visible to other users who are involved in the same Sub Projects and will be shown when submitting an application or form.

Users can also link a building professional, who has registered with PlanBuild Tasmania account, to the projects or relevant forms.

What can an applicant lodge using PlanBuild Tasmania?

As each council adopts PlanBuild Tasmania, applicants will be able to submit applications directly to organisations using the service for properties in that area.

Organisations currently using PlanBuild Tasmania include:

City of Hobart

The City of Hobart are now using PlanBuild Tasmania for their end-to-end application, assessment and approval processes for Planning, Building and Plumbing. For properties located in this municipality, you can now submit applications using PlanBuild Tasmania.

TasWater

As each council adopts PlanBuild Tasmania, you will be able to submit applications directly to TasWater for properties in that area. Councils will be able to make referrals to TasWater via the system once they adopt PlanBuild.

Heritage Tasmania

As each council adopts PlanBuild Tasmania, you will be able to submit applications directly to Heritage Tasmania for properties in that area. Councils will be able to make referrals to Heritage Tasmania via the system once they adopt PlanBuild.
