What is Application Services?
Application Services allows people to apply, track and interact with the relevant parties for the life of a project. It has been developed in consultation with local government, industry, referral authorities, including TasWater and Heritage Tasmania, to ensure it is fit-for-purpose for all who will use it.
Depending on your role in a project, Application Services will allow you to perform different actions.

Application Services - 2024 and beyond
The rollout of the PlanBuild Application Services in August 2024 represents the next step for the PlanBuild Tasmania project going live with the City of Hobart, TasWater and Heritage Tasmania, for applications within the municipality of Hobart.
As the service is rolled out to more organisations, PlanBuild will provide a consistent and convenient end-to-end online user experience for all those involved in Tasmanian property development.
When available, Application Service will allow users to do the following.
Members of the public will be able to:
- submit an application
- pay fees
- purchase a Certificate of Title
- track the status of an application
- upload documents as needed
- receive notifications
- receive any permits issued.
Industry professionals will be able to:
- create projects and manage applications in a central place
- connect with local councils
- lodge applications and other information on behalf of their clients
- access relevant reporting.
Council users will be able to:
- receive applications
- receive payment of fees
- notify applicants of additional requirements
- refer applications to other agencies, if required
- notify applicants of the outcome of their application
- issue any approval to applicants through the portal
- access relevant reporting.
